Dr. Bolarinwa Akinola is a Consultant Orthopaedic Arthroplasty, Trauma and Spine Surgeon in full time Private Practice.

Dr. Akinola is a fellowship trained Arthroplasty and Trauma Surgeon, who graduated from the University of Ibadan, and thereafter proceeded to the United Kingdom for his Orthopaedic training on the East of England rotation, rotating through such world renowned hospitals as Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, UK and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in Norwich, UK. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Trauma and Orthopaedics) in 2015.

After obtaining his Certificate of Completion of Training, he underwent further sub specialist fellowship training at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa, and at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough UK where he was a BOA (British Orthopaedic Association) National Clinical Leadership Fellow. Dr. Akinola is on the specialist register of the General Medical Council UK as an Orthopaedics and Trauma specialist. He also holds a Masters in Public Health degree from the prestigious London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Dr. Akinola returned to Nigeria in April 2017 to take up appointment as Consultant Orthopaedics, Trauma & Limb Reconstruction Surgeon at Cedarcrest Hospitals Abuja, and in 2019 resumed at Cedarcrest Hospitals Lagos as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Medical Director.

Dr. Akinola is currently Consultant Orthopaedics, Trauma and Limb Reconstruction Surgeon as well as CEO/MD at Osteon Clinics Lagos.

His areas of expertise includes hip and knee replacement surgery (primary and revision), complex trauma and limb reconstruction, deformity correction, management of bone and joint infection, sports surgery, and spine surgery.

He is well published and continues to be actively involved in clinical research.

Dr. Akinola is a faculty on the Basic Biomechanics in Orthopaedics Course, an international course that holds in London, UK. He is also a director at AEON Health (a health consulting firm in Nigeria).
